2014: Pennsylvania Core Knowledge Competencies for Early Childhood and School-Age Professionals

Created in 2014 and formerly known as the Core Body of Knowledge, this set of competencies helps define expectations for the field.  "This revision is designed to be more inclusive of all group settings and updated to reflect revised learning standards and current research on best practice."

 

 

 

2014: Pennsylvania Big Ideas Framework and Individual Professional Development Plan for Early Childhood & School-Age Practitioners

The Big Ideas Framework and Individual Professional Development Plan provide professionals with a form to create an annual professional development plan and to evaluate accomplishments at the end of the year. Published in January 2014, this document was created by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning and the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Department of Public Welfare.

 

 

2005: Pennsylvania Early Learning Keys to Professional Development: Core Body of Knowledge for Early Childhood and School-Age Practitioners

The Pennsylvania Early Learning Keys to Quality initiative was created in July 2005 by the Office of Child Development, housed in the Department of Public Welfare. In order to accomplish their vision and mission, this initiative emphasizes the need for “a highly skilled early childhood education and school-age professional work force that embraces a spirit of life-long learning and continuous quality improvement.”
