Community Design Collaborative

The Community Design Collaborative is a community design center that provides pro bono preliminary design services to nonprofit organizations in greater Philadelphia, offers unique volunteer opportunities for design professionals, and raises awareness about the importance of design in community revitalization.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation

Their unique structure enables local organizations to access national resources and expertise and their funding partners to leverage investment and achieve an impact that is truly remarkable. LISC is the largest community development support organization in the country.

Bridging Refugee Youth and Children's Services (BRYCS)

BRYCS assists service providers from refugee resettlement agencies, mainstream service agencies, such as child welfare and schools, and ethnic community based organizations. BRYCS provides individual consultations, trainings, and conference presentations on topics related to serving refugee children and families. In addition, BRYCS authors publications and maintains a Clearinghouse of thousands of resources.

National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated (NRCCFI)

In 2006, the Federal Resource Center on Children of Prisoners merged with the Family and Corrections Network to create the National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated (NRCCFI). The mission of NRCCFI is to uphold the value of families of the incarcerated and provide support to programs that serve them. Also, they provide an internet-based resource calledChildren of Prisoners Library (CPL) that provides free information sheets designed for people serving children of prisoners and their caregivers.

Northern Children’s Services seeks to build the self-confidence and resiliency of at-risk children and their families. They accomplish this by providing a full spectrum of behavioral health and child welfare services to children throughout the region.

Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (OCCCDA)

Through OCCCDA, children and youth are provided positive out of school activities, families can be reconciled, individuals are taught job skills and trained for small business development, community members who have conflicts are able to walk through mediation, and churches can partner as ambassadors to a community in need.

In addition, PBS's educational media helps prepare children for success in school and opens up the world to them in an age-appropriate way.Their separate webpages for kids (including PBS KIDSKIDS GO!, and KIDS PLAY!), parents, and teachers provide a multitude of useful resources.
